Scented trash bags are the worst. Now our trash smells just as bad with an added unnatural vanilla scent.

Why did we buy so many of these trash bags? Hopefully we run out soon.

I made this mistake once, too. Luckily I got them from the dollar store so I didn't feel so bad about dumping them.

I am fascinated by your trash though. Ramen, milk, your inability to recycle aluminum or glass.

I'm having trouble with a few items: Is that an empty container for peanuts, spices or instant coffee? And is that an empty pudding container or jello?

The container was full of sunflower seeds. Yes, that is jello pudding. I am 5 going on 92.

I thought the same thing about recycling--blue bins are so easy to use, you don't even have to sort stuff!

A. We live in Chicago. There are no blue bins.

B. Scented trash bags are the BOMB!

It is significantly harder to recycle in Chicago, sadly, but still, yes, we should be doing it anyway.

If you don't have the blue bins already, you will soon!

Sadly that program is only for people who get their garbage picked up by the city, and typically they only pick up in areas with single family homes. The majority of Chicago garbage pick up is done by private contractors, and it's very hard to convince landlords to convince contractors to set up recycling pick up, because the landlords end up footing the bill. Chicago can be very slow to change. We should be recycling. Unfortunately, the City of Chicago makes it very difficult and time consuming for its residents.
